Mars Phoenix Lander - Anomalous Object

An image released on May 25, 2008, from the Mars Phoenix Lander, shows a seemingly anomalous object on the surface of the planet. It is white and of an unknown size.

This is from one of the first pictures released after the Phoenix Lander touched down on the planet.

The lander landed near the arctic pole of Mars to investigate the conditions for life on the planet; past or present.
